14. Quercus x asheana
This is the one hybrid vouchered in Polk County, and is not part of the basic identification key from the USF Herbarium. Named Quercus x asheana, it is a hybrid of the red oaks Q. incana x Q. laevis.
Although it doesn’t have a common name, we hereby offer the obvious “Ashe’s Oak.”
